Before you begin to learn Latin, it’s probably best to review some of the more basic concepts of grammar in English. This video covers the essentials: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and prepositional phrases.

I've learned that I've taken my English native language for granted it has been corrupted with the colloquial phrases and not proper thank you I love languages and have learned some but not really English should be the one I learn first properly thank you
Wouldn’t the “a” in the example English sentence also be an adjective?
Edit: As in “a cold”
Is this the same guy who does the bible project videos? Wow, his voice is soooo fimiliar!!! Lol

Basic Latin grammar for learning English part 1
Many people think Latin is a dead language. Maybe it is, but also it is revivable. Fortunately Sanskrit hasn't died completely yet, although it is sadly declining.

Hello every year 7 student who wants to understand what the hell your Latin teacher is going on about, I am in year 8 and I still don't get it.
This is a great approach. French is my second strongest language, but I've never been able to get far with conjugation cuz tutorials just blast you with one tense after another, expecting you to know what they are, even though a lot of them don't exist in English. So you're not only learning a new language, but you need to learn grammar that you need to have a good grasp of the language to understand. Unless you just immerse yourself.
that intro made me want to shout " ONE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT NINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE tHeRe ArE tEn ThInGs YoU nEeD tO kNoW"
What playlist do you recommend I start on first for someone just starting?
Any Latin language movies recommemded?
"The coward cat" sentence is not a regular sentence actually. There is much alliteracy involved. Sound more like poetry than a regular speech.
It's a good thing some people love this stuff. The rest of us would b screwed without them.
I am so terrible at latin right now, my teacher recommended these videos. I think they are helping a ton. Thanks! (^_^)/
02:15 How about sentences like "There's no rest for the wizardly", or "Brave gets the prize"? :J Here adjectives are used kinda like nouns, as the subjects or objects. (Susbstantives, if I remember correctly?)
02:32 The "a" in "a cold" is also an adjective (or, in a broader sense: a determiner). Originally it had the same meaning as "one" (Old English "an"), in the meaning of "there is one / some with that particular property".
Wouldn't they be the sine quibus non, since there are more than one?
2:33 "one cat" is redundant.
how many hours a day we need to learn Latin,?
When I was in high school in the 80's I wanted to take Latin, but my mother wouldn't sign the permsission slip. She made me take spanish instead. My aunt was a second grade teacher and she agreed with my mother saying "Latin is a dead language" I was trying to get them to understand that Latin helps with English and Spanish. I'm still mad at them over that! LoL
Do you have french tutorials as well?
i've taken latin for 3 years now, had several different teachers but by far you've been my best one. keep up the good work

IT’S THE 10 DULE COMMANDMENTS
what's the perfect latin translation for "run. breathe. live. dream." anyone please?
ffffffffffooooooooooooooooooooddddddddddd
I would like to point out that a noun is not necessary for a grammatically correct sentence. A single imperative verb like "Go." can function as a grammatically correct sentence (at least in English).
dont make latin a dead language! lets all speak latin!
just felt like learning latin for thanks and these help so much
I started Latin a few weeks ago and none of it is sticking. Looking forward to spending time to watch your videos
"not without which" is a bungling of "sine qua non" — it means "without which not", as in "that without which something is not"
With this video, I now stand a chance at helping my son with his Latin homework.. THANK YOU.
