Guys, let’t learn importance of Punctuation Marks (विराम चिन्ह) in English Grammar:
वाक्यों को बोलते वक़्त जो बीच में ठहरना पड़ता है वही ठहराव जब लिखित भाषा में दिखाना होता है तो कुछ ख़ास चिन्हों का उपयोग किया जाता है, इन्हें ही विराम-चिह्न (PUNCTUATION MARKS) कहा जाता है। अंग्रेजी में कुल 15 Punctuation Marks होते हैं।
1. Full stop or Period (.) – पूर्ण विराम
2. Question mark (?) – प्रश्नवाचक चिन्ह
3. Exclamation mark or Exclamation point (!) – विस्मयादिबोधक चिन्ह
4. Comma (,) – अल्पविराम
5. Colon (:) – उप विराम / अपूर्ण विराम
6. Semi-colon (;) – अर्ध विराम
7. Quotation marks or Inverted commas (“ ”) or (‘ ’) – अवतरण या उद्धरण चिन्ह
8. Ellipsis (…) – पदलोप चिन्ह
9. Apostrophe (’) – अक्षर लोप चिन्ह
10. Hyphen (-) – योजक चिन्ह
11. Dash (–) – निर्देशक चिन्ह
12. Slashes or Oblique
13. Parentheses or Round brackets – ( ) – छोटा कोष्ठक
14. Square brackets or Box brackets – [ ] – बड़ा कोष्ठक
15. Braces or Curly brackets – { } – मँझला कोष्ठक
